A Recap of 2019
2019 was so many things for me - the year of getting this blogging thing down was not one of them, clearly! Hopefully I’ll find a better way to prioritize posting in 2020. So, since I barely shared anything here this year, I want to share one image from almost every shoot and every wedding in 2019.
This year, I tried something new that majorly impacted me - boudoir photography. I started the year with it, and I’m so excited to start 2020 with it because it’s something I love so, so much. I really think it energized 2019 in a way I really needed after an insanely draining 2018.
I took on a few less weddings for a couple reasons, and am so happy I did. With several “off season” and smaller weddings in the mix, I came close to shooting as many as I did last year but this year felt so much more manageable to me. I really missed being able to offer family sessions in the summer and fall, and really wanted to offer mini sessions this year. So the wedding/session balance felt great this year and I’m hoping it turns out that way for next year too!
I’d be remiss not to mention a huge reason for feeling much more balanced in 2019 - my assistant Jenna, who took over combing through emails, scheduling things for me and keeping me on track with so many things that easily could have fallen by the wayside. I’m so grateful for her, and if you’re a solopreneur struggling with keeping it all together - get you a Jenna! It’ll help you do your craft and focus on the work that you’re good at.
So, without further ado - all my faves from the year! I could have easily shared several images from everything I did this year - looking back through everything made me insanely proud. Proud of not only the amazing work I did, but proud of all the people I met and was able to give some really sweet memories and photos of. (ps these are separated between couples and weddings first, and portraits, families, etc. second!)
Thank you, thank you. Here’s to 2020!
