Kristin + Deepak // Henderson Chapel Syracuse Wedding

You haven’t seen the last of winter weddings from me! Believe it or not, I still have one more to share with you that was the MOST winter of them all! But first, I’m so excited to share this gorgeous wedding day with you. Kristen and Deepak’s story is one that spans so much time and distance. The two of them have mostly been living apart in Asia for work, and were so excited to finally be together for their wedding weekend in Syracuse. Even spending less than a full day with these two, I could just feel that the love between them is so strong and resilient. Another thing that was striking to me was their support system - friends and family who weren’t exactly a wedding party, but there to help them celebrate their day with so much love and fun! I knew as soon as I walked into the home they got ready in (together but separately) that it was going to be such a wonderful day.

I had never been in Hendrick’s Chapel before, but I was so excited to experience a new place that seemed to have so much potential for great shots! I love their ceremony photos because they include a lot of the architecture of the dome that covers the chapel.

After their ceremony and some family photos inside, we stepped right out the front doors to shoot just Kristin and Dee together, and I’m just stunned by how these came out! I look back at this work and am just so happy I was the one who got to photograph the people in these photos.

After spending some time shooting these two, we headed down the hill to Faegan’s, where their family and friends waited for them at a cocktail hour of sorts. The energy here was so fun - it had all the wonderful chaos of any bar packed with friends!

After Faegan’s the guests all went just a bit farther down the hill to Phoebe’s Restaurant, another gem which I have heard so much about but never been inside of! Gee, this space is a photographer’s dream. Natural daylight from the ceiling and windows?! I love the look of these photos so much!

After capturing some of their luncheon, I headed home but the party continued for Kristin and Dee and their friends. They eventually went to an SU basketball game, got pizza at Twin Trees, and were even featured in a news article! It was such a pleasure capturing this day. Thanks Kristin and Dee for choosing me!
